Newton, NJ – The Sussex County Library System (SCLS) is proud to announce an array of captivating events designed to inspire and enrich the community. From author talks to artistic demonstrations to DIY crafts, adults are invited to join the SCLS this month in celebrating the richness of art and creativity.

Upcoming events include:

Travels & Tastes at Franklin Branch
Date & Time: March 2, 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Location: Franklin Branch, 103 Main Street, Franklin, NJ
Join Franklin Branch Librarian, Arielle, for a tasty trip around the world. This month, learn about the history, culture, and sights of Sicily, then stay for a sampling of the region’s cuisine.

The Schuyler Sisters & the Hamilton Musical via Zoom
Date & Time: March 5, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Location: Zoom Virtual Event
Join Rick Feingold from Bergen County Community College via Zoom for an insightful presentation on the history and music of Hamilton through the lens of the Schuyler sisters.

How Can I Help You? Author Talk at Main Library

Meet novelist and award-winning poet, Laura Sims. Ms. Sims will read and discuss passages from her novel, How Can I Help You?

Watercolor Landscape Demonstration with Artist David Rush at Louise Childs

Art Talk with Janet Mandel via Zoom
Date & Time: March 22, 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Location: Zoom Virtual Event
Join art educator, Janet Mandel, to examine the lives of three remarkable female art collectors who defied society’s expectations: Isabella Stewart Gardner, Helene Kröller-Müller, and Peggy Guggenheim.

In addition to these informative events, SCLS will participate in NJ Makers Day this March with activities for all ages at all locations to celebrate making, tinkering, and STEM-based learning.
