Welcome to the Sussex County Division of Planning and Economic Development. The Division of Planning and Economic Development is responsible for providing staff and technical assistance to the County Planning Board, Agricultural Development Board, Solid Waste Advisory Committee, 208 Water Quality Policy Advisory Committee, Strategic Growth Advisory Committee and Board of County Commissioners on all matters related to land use, development and conservation.
The Division manages the following programs:
2025 State Plan Update & Plan Acceptance
A Public Information Meeting on the State Plan Update will be held on March 28, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Commissioner Meeting Room. Attendees will have the opportunity to comment on and provide feedback on the draft Preliminary State Plan.
