Press Release - Sentencing of Bartholomew Ligons Jr.

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Bartholomew Ligons Jr., who appeared before the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on February 28, 2020.
Ligons, age 53 of Newton, was sentenced to one year of non-custodial probation with credit for 23 days of jail time served. He was ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made from same, complete 50 hours of community service work, submit a DNA sample and pay fines and fees totaling $155.00.
He pled guilty on December 16, 2019, to Misuse of 9-1-1, a fourth degree crime.
The defendant called a 9-1-1 emergency telephone service on January 16, 2019, without a need for 9-1-1 service.
Ligons was represented by Thomas Militano, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Vanessa Henderson.
