Wantage, NJ – The Sussex County Library System (SCLS) is thrilled to announce the upcoming ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Mobile Library – Dot. Community members are welcome to celebrate this new resource for our community on Wednesday, June 18 at 5:00 pm at the Sussex-Wantage Branch, located at 69 County Route 639, Wantage, NJ.

The event will include remarks from community leaders, a brief look at the history of bookmobiles in Sussex County, photo opportunities, a sneak peek inside Dot, and light refreshments.

Dot Mobile Library is named in honor of Dorothy Henry, the first librarian and bookmobile driver for the Sussex County Library System, who was affectionately known as “Dot.” This tribute honors her legacy of bringing library services to the community.

“We’re so excited to introduce Dot to the public,” stated Will Porter, Director of Sussex County Library System. “Dot Mobile Library continues the mission Dorothy Henry began—bringing library access to residents throughout the county, especially those who can’t easily get to a branch. It’s a proud moment for us and a meaningful step forward in community outreach.”

Dot Mobile Library will begin making regular stops and outreach visits later this summer. For more information about this or other upcoming programs and events, visit SussexCountyLibrary.org or call the Main Library at 973-948-3660. All SCLS programs and events are free of charge and open to the public.
