Newton, NJ – Rocket Languages, an award-winning interactive online language learning system, is the Sussex County Library System’s (SCLS) resource of the month.
Accessible anywhere, to anyone with an SCLS library card, Rocket Languages allows users to learn conversational language at their own pace. Introductory courses are offered in 14 different languages including Portuguese, Arabic and American Sign Language. Spanish, French, Japanese and five other languages have coursework that goes beyond conversational proficiency, with more complex lessons that help the learner truly master a new language. Lessons can be streamed or downloaded for playback on a walk, in the car, or wherever you happen to be. The downloads never expire, allowing the user to learn at their own pace.
Getting started is easy. Go to sussexcountylibrary.org and search Rocket Languages. Sign in with the number from the back of your SCLS library card, create an account and you are ready to learn.
“There are a lot of language learning platforms available,” stated Library Director Will Porter, “but none match Rocket Languages with its combination of voice recognition technology, and interactive games and activities that really help a new language stick.”
A free SCLS library card is available to anyone who lives, works, goes to school or owns property in Sussex County (except Sparta). Apply in person at your local branch or go to sussexcountylibrary.org/get-library-card/
