     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Virtual Courtroom in Newton on April 11, 2022 by William Tifa.

     Tifa, age 24, of New York, NY, pled guilty to Attempting to Obtain a Controlled Dangerous Substance by Fraud, a crime of the third degree and Impersonation, a crime of the fourth degree.  Sentencing is presently scheduled for May 26, 2022 before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C.                       

     The defendant placed phone calls to North Country Pharmacy in Sussex impersonating a doctor in order to have a prescription filled for Controlled Dangerous Substances. 

     Tifa was represented by Matthew Young, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
