Press Release - Sentencing of Felix Morales

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Felix Morales, who appeared before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on January 20, 2022.
Morales, age 30 of Newton, was sentenced to two years of probation. He was ordered to complete 75 hours of community service work, submit a DNA sample and pay restitution of $1,708.65 and fines and fees totaling $155.00 subject to his ability to pay. He was given two days of jail credit.
He pled guilty on December 8, 2021, to Theft of Mislaid Property, a third degree crime.
On April 25, 2019, the defendant came into control of property of another valued at more than $500.00 knowing that the property was lost or mislaid and took same for his own use purposely depriving the owner thereof.
Morales was represented by Thomas Militano, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
