Press Release - Plea of Felix Morales

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on December 8, 2021, by Felix Morales.
Morales, age 30 of Newton, pled guilty to Theft of Mislaid Property, a third degree crime. Sentencing is presently anticipated for January 20, 2022.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted that on April 25, 2019, he came into control of property of another valued at more than $500.00 knowing that the property was lost or mislaid and took same for his own use purposely depriving the owner thereof.
The case was investigated by Ptl. Larry Mendelsohn and Det. Robert Tierney of the Byram Township Police Department.
Morales was represented by Thomas Militano, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
