     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of George Handelong, who appeared before the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on May 20, 2021.

 

     Handelong, age 43 of Port Jervis, New York, was sentenced to two years of probation.  He was ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made from same, continue treatment, perform thirty days of community service work and pay fines and fees totaling $1,205.00.  He was given five days of jail credit.

 

     He pled guilty on April 14, 2021, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime.

 

     The defendant was in possession of fentanyl in Franklin on October 15, 2020.

 

     Handelong was represented by William Oake, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
