The 7th Annual SCMUA American Flag Retirement Ceremony honoring the proper and respectful retirement of unserviceable American flags was held Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 10 a.m.

The flag retirement ceremony was conducted in the new Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery (NNJVMC) reception building by the Sussex County American Legion, Veterans, SCMUA, and Abbey Glen Pet Memorial Park staff.

About the flag disposal program

Following the ceremony, attendees were invited to sprinkle ashes from previously retired flags on veterans graves. Some photos from the ceremony follow.
