The Sussex County Library has purchased and installed JAWS® software at the Main Library and the Dennis Memorial Branch. This software allows blind and visually-impaired patrons to access the Internet. The software has a speech synthesizer which translates a web page into audio (words). Text-based information from any web page is read aloud and listened to with headphones. JAWS® can also be used with other software, such as Microsoft Word, and JAWS® outputs to refreshable braille displays.
For additional information, please contact the Reference Department at the Main Library by calling 973-948-3660 or the Dennis Memorial Branch at 973-383-4810.
