NEWTON NJ - The Sussex County Library System (SCLS) is accepting applications from teen volunteers, ages 14-17, to assist with the library’s summer reading program: All Together Now: Kindness, Friendship, and Unity. Applications are available online at sussexcountylibrary.org/summer2023/ or by stopping in at your local Branch. All volunteers will also be required to register for and attend a Teen Volunteer Orientation at their preferred location. Times, dates and locations are available through the Events link at sussexcountylibrary.org.

“The teens are always a great help in assisting families at registration, setting up programs, and helping younger children with crafts,” stated Youth Services Coordinator Deb Fagnan. “If they have a special interest, like robotics, we work with them to create additional programming that they lead.”

The SCLS Summer Reading program kicks off on June 24 with unique opening programs at each location, and runs through July 29. In addition to volunteering, teens are also encouraged to participate by reading books, earning raffle tickets and entering to win prizes.
