Newton NJ – The Dennis Branch of the Sussex County Library System (SCLS), located at 101 Main Street in Newton, is pleased to once again participate in the Trex® Plastic Film Recycling Challenge. The goal: collect and recycle 500 pounds of polyethylene plastic film to be given new life as a comfortable, attractive bench.
“We already have one beautiful Trex bench on the porch, and are hoping to add another before the summer is through,” stated Branch Librarian Sara Branagan.
A special recycle bin will be located near the front entrance of the Dennis Branch until the 500-pound goal is achieved. All plastic must be clean, dry and free of food residue. Plastic film items include – grocery bags, bread bags, bubble wrap, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ice bags, plastic shipping envelopes, reclosable food storage bags, cereal bags, case overwrap, salt bags, pallet wrap and stretch film and wood pellet bags. More detail on all the types of qualifying plastic film can be found at recycle.trex.com.
