Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Catrina Jackson, who appeared before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on December 1, 2021.
Jackson, age 39 of Hopatcong, was sentenced to two years of non-custodial probation and given credit for three days of time served. She was ordered to submit to TASC and mental health evaluations and follow any and all recommendations made from same, complete an approved anger management program, submit a DNA sample, and pay fines and fees totaling $425.00. Payment of restitution in the amount of $2,041.00 is subject to an ability to pay hearing.
She pled guilty on October 13, 2021, to theft, a third degree crime, and Lewdness, Simple Assault and Shoplifting, all disorderly persons offenses.
The defendant took property from a Sparta resident on June 5, 2021, was complicit in public sexual activity on June 18, 2021 in Newton, attempted to put another in fear of serious bodily injury through physical menace on June 15, 2021, in Newton, and took merchandise valued at less than $200.00 from the Hampton Walmart on September 4, 2021.
Jackson was represented by Thomas F. Militano, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
