Press Release - Plea of Brandon Houser

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on June 16, 2020, by Brandon Houser.
Houser, age 31, of Andover Borough, pled guilty to Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a third degree crime and Criminal Mischief, a fourth degree crime. Sentencing is presently anticipated for July 30, 2020.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to knowingly engaging in conduct which caused harm to a minor child, making the child an abused or neglected child as defined under Title 9, specifically by committing an act of domestic violence in the presence and view of said minor child, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(2). Defendant further admitted to knowingly or purposely damaging the tangible property of K.C., specifically by causing damage to K.C.’s Motor Vehicle – wherein K.C. and the minor child were occupants, including breaking the windshield, causing pecuniary loss in excess of $500, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:17-3a(1).
Houser was represented by Shaun Russell, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Nikoletta Agouras.
