Press Release - Sentencing of Jimmy Blades

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Jimmy Blades, who appeared before the Honorable Thomas J. Critchley, Jr., J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on July 26, 2019.
Blades, age 34 of Newton, was sentenced to 180 days in jail, with credit for 13 days served, and two years of probation. The defendant is to report to jail in one year; however, he may avoid jail time if he refrains from drinking and does not incur new charges in the next year. He was given credit for ten days gap time and ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations from same and pay fines and fees totaling $155.00.
He pled guilty on May 20, 2019, to Burglary, a third degree crime.
The defendant entered an individual’s vehicle in Newton on November 28, 2018.
Blades was represented by Steven Insley, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent Rafuse.
