Sussex County Human Services Advisory Council Seeks New Members

(Newton, NJ) The Sussex County Human Services Advisory Council is appointed by the Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders to review County-level human service activities. In addition, it serves as the primary vehicle for making local recommendations to assist both Sussex County government and the New Jersey Department of Human Services on the allocations, provisions, delivery systems and financing of programs designed to meet the needs of human service recipients in Sussex County.

The Sussex County Human Services Advisory Council is always looking for new members. Members must live or work in Sussex County, be a consumer of human services, a family member of a consumer of human services, an advocate for human services or an employee of a human services provider in Sussex County.

The Sussex County Human Services Advisory Council meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month (with some exceptions). Presentations of local and state human service providers are conducted during every monthly meeting. In addition, various state, county and local agency representatives are on hand to provide up-to-date reports on current human services needs and programs.
