Press Release - Sentencing of Heather R. James

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Heather R. James, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on September 26, 2018.
James, age 41, of Hawley, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to three (3) years Probation on condition she undergo a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, submit a DNA sample, complete 75 hours of community service and pay $1,387.00 in court fines and fees.
She pled guilty on June 18, 2018, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a crime of the third degree.
The defendant was pulled over, in January, by Sparta Police for a motor vehicle violation and was found to be in possession of 389 folds of Heroin.
James was represented by Steven Insley, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Stephanie LaCarrubba.
