Fantasia and Fasano to Lead Sussex County Board of County Commissioners in 2021

New Changes for 2021:

Firstly, pursuant to a legislation signed into law by Gov. Phil Murphy on August 21, 2020, the County will no longer use the term Freeholder. Instead, our elected officials will be known as County Commissioners.

During his time of service to the County, Freeholder Hertzberg was the primary sponsor of the Capital Improvement Referendum and served as liaison to the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA). He played an integral part in the obtaining of federal grant monies to upgrade the County's commuter minibuses, and tackle other projects such as the revival of the Lackawanna Cut-Off Passenger Rail Project, as well as county road improvements. Freeholder Hertzberg also served on the Labor Contract Negotiation Team; Budget and Economic Development Committees.

A replacement for the vacant Commissioner seat will be selected in January 2021 in accordance with the procedures set forth in N.J.S.A. 40:20-35.11b.
