Sussex County Department of Health and Human Services Holds Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon
Life's most persistent and urgent question is, "What are you doing for others?" Martin Luther King, Jr. Over sixty volunteers from the Sussex County Department of Health and Human Services have answered Dr. King's call and are making a difference in the lives of their neighbors every day.
Sussex County Department of Health and Human Services honored the work of its volunteers at a luncheon held in the Romano Conference Center at Newton Medical Center on April 21, 2017. Volunteers in attendance were treated to a delicious lunch and given a token thank you gift. Freeholder Director Carl Lazzaro presented the volunteers with a proclamation from the Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders. The Board expressed its appreciation for the time, effort, and energy that volunteers give to make many of the services in Sussex County work successfully to the benefit of the entire community. Freeholders George Graham and Sylvia Petillo also thanked the volunteers for their years of dedication and hard work, selflessly aiding our residents and enriching our communities.
Volunteers worked with boards, committees, and direct services industries through the Divisions of Community and Youth Services, Senior Services, Social Services and Transit. These sixty attendees were not all inclusive of the many volunteers the county is blessed to work with or the array of services they provide. Simply stated, the Department of Health and Human Services could not operate as efficiently without them.
