Register Ready Program

Register Ready is a free, confidential web-based program utilized by emergency management officials to identify access and/or functional needs of citizens in the event of a disaster and/or emergency situation.

Sussex County Department of Human Services Promotes "Register Ready" Program for the Community

There are two Divisions within the Sussex County Department of Human Services, along with the support of the Office of Emergency Management, who have partnered together to promote New Jersey's Special Needs Registry, "Register Ready." From June through October of this year, the Division of Senior Services and the Division of Community and Youth Services staff have been scheduling presentations in the community in order to educate the public, as well as register people in this program.

Register Ready is a free, confidential web-based program utilized by emergency management officials to identify access and/or functional needs of citizens in the event of a disaster and/or emergency situation. Individuals with access and/or functional needs, including but not limited to, a physical or mental impairment, difficulties with mobility, lack of transportation, medical necessities such as oxygen, or medications, communication or language barriers. Emergency responders can access this database if and when there is an emergency in the county in order to locate and safely evacuate people with special needs.

There are various methods in which Individuals can register in the database: electronically by accessing www.registerready.nj.gov external link, calling NJ's toll-free telephone and referral service 2-1-1, contacting their local office of Emergency Management external link and/or Sussex County Sheriff's Office or by calling the Sussex County Department of Human Services, Division of Community and Youth Services, at (973) 948-6000 ext. 1381 to request a paper application. You may also print and fill out a paper application here and return it to our office.
