12th Stuff the Bus Food Drive to Battle Hunger in Sussex County
[Newton, NJ] It's time to Stuff the Bus!! WNNJ and WSUS radio personalities will be spearheading the Stuff the Bus campaign against hunger in Sussex County for the twelfth year in a row. ShopRite will join First Hope Bank this year to host this annual event which benefits the Sussex County Social Services Food Pantry. Sussex County Skylands Ride will have buses at select locations so people wishing to provide food for neighbors will be able to "stuff the bus." Buses will be on site at the following locations:
First Hope Bank, 161 Newton-Sparta Road, Andover
Friday, November 22, 2019, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
As well as at the following Shop Rite Locations:
Saturday, November 23, 2019, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. AND
Sunday, November 24, 2019, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
ShopRite of Byram, North, 90-80 Route 206, Stanhope
ShopRite of Franklin, 270 Route 23, Franklin
ShopRite of Newton, 127 Water Street (Route 206), Newton
AND
ShopRite of Sparta, 18 North Village Boulevard (off Rte. 15), Sparta
Donations of non-perishable items are always appreciated. Items often needed at the food pantry include macaroni and cheese, tuna, meals in a can, hearty soups, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, vegetables, boxed mashed potatoes, rice, pancake mix, and syrup. Turkeys, hams and frozen lasagna are also accepted.
You can make a food donation right now at the ShopRite Stores in Sparta, Franklin, Byram and Newton and First Hope Bank locations.
If anyone is in need of food for themselves or their family, they can stop by the Division of Social Services located at 83 Spring Street, Newton, NJ, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Food donations or pet food are also accepted during these hours or special arrangements can be made for after-hours donations by calling 973-383-3600.
Pre-Stuff the Bus Event at the Homestead
WSUS Radio Talent Steve Andrews broadcasted live from the Homestead Rehabilitation and Health Care Center on Friday, November 15, to highlight their participation with a pre-Stuff the Bus event this year. Homestead staff, residents, friends and family look forward to this event each year and the opportunity to give back during this season of thanks.
