Sussex County Improves Community Outreach with Social Networking

Users of popular social networking tools can now sign up to receive regular news updates from Sussex County government. It is forecast that by 2013, more people will access the world wide web with mobile phones than with personal computers. Sussex County administration has recognized and responded to the need to improve community outreach with the latest social networking tools.

"We want to be proactive in using the latest tools to reach out to those we serve. Twitter and Facebook have been adopted by many governments around the country as another way to reach their constituents. The Sussex County Email Newsletter, RSS Feeds, Facebook and Twitter are great ways to provide a more open government and to communicate with Sussex County citizens at little or no cost," said Freeholder Director Jeffrey Parrott.
