Newton, New Jersey - The Sussex County Library System (SCLS) is delighted to announce its upcoming event, "Broadband Access for All." The event aims to address the importance of internet access and digital literacy while providing sign-up assistance for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). The event will be held on July 18, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, at the Main Library located at 125 Morris Turnpike in Frankford.
Internet access and digital literacy are basic requirements of modern life. Unfortunately, many individuals and families in our community face barriers that prevent them from accessing the vital resources and opportunities available online. This public forum gives community members an opportunity to learn about plans for digital equity across New Jersey and to voice their needs and concerns.
Panel participants include:
- Planet Networks
- TeknoGrid
- International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW)
- NJ Council of County Colleges
Following the panel discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the ACP. Participants can also learn about borrowing WiFi hotspots and Chromebooks with an SCLS library card.
"SCLS is committed to ensuring that every member of the Sussex County community has access to information and can participate in the expanding digital world," said Will Porter, Director of Sussex County Library System. "We are proud to participate in this effort to improve digital access and literacy throughout New Jersey. We are excited that members of our community will have the opportunity to learn more about this initiative and to express their own unique needs and concerns."
The "Broadband Access for All" event is open to the public, no registration required. For more information about the event, please visit the Sussex County Library System website at www.sussexcountylibrary.org.
