Press Release - Sentencing of Monika Wolverton

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Monika Wolverton, who appeared before the Honorable Thomas J. Critchley, Jr., J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on October 11, 2019.
     Wolverton, age 32 of Andover, was sentenced to three years of mental health probation and 364 days in jail with credit for 39 days of time served.  The defendant may be released from jail once probation establishes a comprehensive mental health plan.  She was ordered to pay restitution of $696.42 and fines and fees totaling $280.00.
     She pled guilty on September 3, 2019, to Forgery and Theft by Deception, third degree crimes. 
     The defendant took an individual’s checks in Byram Township, forging same to pay for merchandise at the Mount Olive Walmart, and then returning the merchandise to receive cash refunds.
     Wolverton was represented by Shaun Morgan Russell, Esq., and the State was r  epresented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
