Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable Stuart A. Minkowitz, A.J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on September 3, 2019, by Monika Wolverton.
Wolverton, age 32 of Andover, pled guilty to Forgery and Theft by Deception, third degree crimes. Sentencing is presently anticipated for October 11, 2019.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to taking an individual’s checks in Byram Township, forging same to pay for merchandise at the Mount Olive Walmart, and then returning the merchandise to receive cash refunds.
The case was investigated by Detective R. Tierney of the Byram Township Police Department.
Wolverton was represented by Shaun Morgan Russell, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
