Press Release - Sentencing of Edgardo Lugo

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Edgardo Lugo, who appeared before the Honorable Thomas J. Critchley, Jr., J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on July 26, 2019.
Lugo, age 51 of Newton, NJ, was sentenced to three years custodial probation. Additionally, he must serve 300 days in county jail, with credit for time served, submit to a mental health evaluation and follow all recommendations, enroll in the DECIDE program, no contact with the victim, barred from owning, possession or controlling any firearms, Firearms Purchaser Identification Card, or Permit to Purchase, and pay mandatory fines and fees.
Lugo pled guilty on June 24, 2019 to Aggravated Assault, a third degree crime.
Lugo was represented by Thomas Militano, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Nikoletta Agouras.
