Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Dion Osborne, who appeared before the Honorable Thomas J. Critchley, Jr., J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on May 17, 2019.
Osborne, age 37 of Newton, was sentenced to three years of probation and 180 days of home detention. His driver license was ordered suspended for a total of seven months, and he was ordered to successfully complete a defensive driving course and 12 hours at the Intoxicated Driving Resource Center. He must submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made from same, obey all motor vehicle laws, abstain from drugs and alcohol, and pay restitution of $12,196.37 and fines and fees totaling $1,844.00.
He pled guilty on March 18, 2019, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime, and Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (1st offense), a motor vehicle offense.
The defendant was in possession of and under the influence of heroin while driving on October 16, 2018, in Wantage Township.
Osborne was represented by Shaun Morgan Russell, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
