Press Release - Plea of Michael Collett

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable Thomas J. Critchley, Jr., J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on February 7, 2019, by Michael Collett.
     Collett, age 33 of Mine Hill, pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime, Hindering Apprehension, a disorderly persons offense, and Driving While Suspended, a motor vehicle offense.  Sentencing is presently anticipated for March 22, 2019.
     On December 14, 2018, Andover Police stopped a vehicle operated by Collett for a motor vehicle offense.  In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to being in possession of heroin, providing a false name to police, and to driving while suspended.
     The case was investigated by Officers M. Haggerty, D. Northern and M. Puccio of the Andover Police Department.
     Collett was represented by Daniel Palazzo, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
