Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Kayla Talmadge, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on January 25, 2019.
Talmadge, age 26, of Hawley, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to eighteen (18) months in New Jersey State Prison with credit for 76 days already served. She must also complete drug treatment, submit DNA sample, pay $2,910.88 restitution (joint and several with her co-defendant) to the victim, and pay $205.00 in fines and fees.
She pled guilty on December 10, 2018, to Tampering with Physical Evidence and Obstruction Administration of Law, both crimes of the fourth degree.
The defendant wrapped money, from an Andover burglary committed by a co-defendant, in a towel and hid the money in a closet.
