Press Release - Sentencing of Christopher Candido

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Christopher Candido, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on December 14, 2018.
     Candido, age 26 of Hopatcong, was sentenced to five years of probation and given credit for time served in jail since his August 23, 2018, arrest.  He was ordered to secure and maintain full-time employment, obtain a General Education Diploma, submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made from same, attend AA/NA meetings at least three times per week, submit a DNA sample, and pay fines and fees totaling $280.00. 
     He pled guilty on October 22, 2018, to Theft and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, both third degree crimes.
The defendant took an individual’s car and used that individual’s debit card on August 23, 2018.

     Candido was represented by Thomas F. Militano, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
