Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on December 3, 2018, by Tysborne Reed.
Reed, age 23 of Jersey City, pled guilty to Theft by Deception, a third degree crime. Sentencing is presently anticipated for February 22, 2019.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to uttering ten counterfeit $100.00 bills (U.S. currency) during an arranged purchase of a dirt bike in Andover Township, on May 11, 2018.
The case was investigated by Lt. R. Mosner and Officer J. Mills of the Andover Township Police Department and Det. T. Laird of the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office.
Reed was represented by Charles O’Connell, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
