Press Release - Sentencing of Frank Carman

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Frank Carman, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on October 5, 2018.
Frank Carman, age 38, of West Milford, was sentenced to five (5) years State Prison for Endangering the Welfare of a Child on May 17, 2017 in the Borough of Sussex. Carman received 421 days jail credit and was ordered to pay all mandatory fines and fees.
In addition, the Defendant was sentenced to five (5) years State Prison for two counts of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer in August of 2017 in the Township of Wantage. This sentence was ordered to run concurrent to the Endangering the Welfare of a Child sentence. Carman received 413 days jail credit and was ordered to pay all mandatory fines and fees as well as $245.00 restitution.
He pled guilty on August 21, 2018, to Endangering the Welfare of a Child (a third degree crime) and two counts of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer (third degree crimes). These cases were investigated by the New Jersey State Police and the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office.
Defendant was represented by William Oake, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Sally Anne Monkemeier.
