Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of guilty pleas to accusations before the Honorable Michael E. Hubner, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on October 10, 2018, by Andres Chavarria.
Chavarria, age 43 of Newton, pled guilty to two counts of Driving While Suspended, a fourth degree crime, and Driving Under the Influence (third offense), a motor vehicle offense. Sentencing is presently anticipated for November 30, 2018.
On April 7, 2018, and April 28, 2018, Chavarria was stopped by Andover Township Police officers for motor vehicle violations. In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to driving on both dates while his driver license was suspended for a third offense of Driving While Intoxicated and to driving on April 7, 2018, while under the influence of alcohol.
The cases were investigated by Patrolman Michael Haggerty and Patrolman Alex Price of the Andover Township Police Department.
Chavarria was represented by Thomas Militano, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
