Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of David Chavez, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on February 23, 2018.
Chavez, age 30 of Long Valley, was sentenced to 60 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility concurrent with his present sentence. He was ordered to submit a DNA sample and pay fines and fees totaling $155.00.
He pled guilty on January 8, 2018, to Hindering Apprehension, a fourth degree crime.
The defendant gave a false name to a police officer thereby hindering the apprehension of another on June 21, 2017.
Chavez was represented by Nicole Rizzolo, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Jerry Neidhardt.
