Press Release - Plea of Thomas Rae

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on February 26, 2018, by Thomas Rae. 
     Rae, age 51 of Newton, pled guilty to Misuse of 9-1-1, a fourth degree crime.  Sentencing is presently anticipated for April 13, 2018.
     In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to calling 9-1-1 on December 6, 2017, although he was not in need of emergency assistance.
     The case was investigated by Patrolman Scott Vertetis of the Newton Police Department.
     Rae was represented by Thomas Militano, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
