Press Release - Plea of Kimberly E. Kerton

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an indictment before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on February 13, 2018, by Kimberly E. Kerton.
     Kerton, age 42, of Franklin, pled guilty to Failure to Make Lawful Disposition. (A third degree crime).  Sentencing is presently anticipated for April 6, 2018. 
     In pleading guilty the defendant admitted that from August, 2013 to June, 2016 to failing to use her son’s monthly benefits, amounting to more than $500.00, intended for his care and support and instead using it for her own personal benefit. 
     The case were investigated by Detective Nevin J.Mattessich of the Franklin Police Department and Detective Paul Mueller of the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office. 
     Keton was represented by Public Defender, Thomas Militano, and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Magdalen Czykier.
