Press Release - Sentencing of John I. Phalon

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of John I. Phalon, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on January 26, 2018.
     Phalon, age 34, of Sussex, was sentenced to three years Probation on the condition he undergo a substance abuse evaluation and follow all recommendations, complete fifty hours of community service, submit to random urine monitoring, submit a DNA sample and pay $157.00 in court fines and fees. 
     He pled guilty on December 4, 2017, to third degree Uttering a Forged Instrument. 
     In January of 2017, defendant presented a forged prescription to the Rite-Aid Pharmacy in Hamburg to obtain drugs, knowing the prescription was fake.
     Phalon was represented by Jon C. Dupee, Jr., Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Magdalen Czykier.
