Sussex County Skylands Ride Announces New Transportation Service to Netcong Train Station
Sussex County Skylands Ride Announces
New Transportation Service to Netcong Train Station
Residents utilizing public transportation have been confined to the perimeters of the County for decades, with the exception of New York City. The new service to the Netcong Train Station offers a fresh exciting realm of opportunities to Sussex County residents. Passengers travelling to the Netcong transit hub can access buses and trains to go anywhere and visitors can now experience easy access to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and recreational highlights of Sussex County.
The new bus link will run along Route 206 from Trinity Street in Newton to the Netcong Train Station, stopping to pick-up or drop off at any of the 56 Lakeland Bus stops. The fleet has seven new buses which provide pleasant transportation and offer improved passenger comfort and vehicle reliability. The fare for a one way trip is $2.00. Funded through the Federal New Freedom Act, this service is available to any and all Sussex County residents.
The change in service was exclusively designed for Sussex County residents and has the potential to improve the quality of lives of the young, the elderly and all those in between. Community feedback has been extremely positive as the service is affording many residents life changing options beyond transportation.
This service expands employment options and affords residents the ability to defray transportation costs by saving gas money or reducing the number of cars in a household, thereby decreasing expenses such as insurance, maintenance and a monthly car payment. Byram, Andover and Netcong residents can now enjoy the shopping offered along the Newton/Hampton 206 corridor, providing convenience and stimulating economic growth.
Residents can access the service or get further information by calling Skylands Ride Monday through Friday at 973-579-0480.
