Press Release - Sentencing of Gina M. Matarazzo

PRESS RELEASE

     Acting Sussex County Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart announced the sentencing of Gina M. Matarazzo, who appeared before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on April 22, 2022.

     Matarazzo, age 54, of Sussex, was sentenced to Probation for a period of three years, with the conditions of 270 days in the Morris County Correctional Facility, abide by all the standard terms of probation, pay restitution in the amount of $413,528.00 to the victim and/or his family, have no contact, directly or indirectly, with the victim, cooperate with the prosecution of the co-defendant, complete seventy-five hours of community service, submit to DNA testing and pay for any and all costs associated with the testing.  

     She pled guilty on June 30, 2021, to two counts of Theft By Unlawful Taking (a Third Degree Crime), one count of Failure to Make Lawful Disposition (a Third Degree Crime) and one count of Misapplication of Entrusted Property (a Third Degree Crime).    

     Defendant was represented by Daniel Agatino, Esq. and the State was represented by Special Deputy Attorney General/Acting Assistant Prosecutor Laura L. Nazzaro.
