Press Release - Plea of Matthew Chardavoyne

PRESS RELEASE

June 2, 2022

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an indictment before the Honorable Peter Conforti, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on June 2, 2022 by Matthew Chardavoyne.

     Chardavoyne, age 34, of Ogdensburg, pled guilty to Theft, a crime of the third degree.  Sentencing is presently scheduled for June 29, 2022 before the Honorable Robert M. Hanna, J.S.C.                          

     In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to unlawfully taking Controlled Dangerous Substances from a victim at the Sussex Inn in Sussex on May 29, 2021.

     Chardavoyne was represented by Bruce Farrier, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
