Press Release - Plea of George Handelong
PRESS RELEASE
April 14, 2021
Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on April 14, 2021, by George Handelong.
Handelong, age 43 of Port Jervis, New York, pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a third degree crime. Sentencing is presently anticipated for May 20, 2021.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to being in possession of fentanyl in Franklin on October 15, 2020.
The case was investigated by Ptlm. Della Fera and Ptlm. MacQuesten of the Franklin Borough Police Department.
Handelong was represented by William Oake, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
