Press Release - Plea of Francesco Tassiello

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of a guilty plea to an accusation before the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on September 1, 2020, by Francesco Tassiello.

     Tassiello, age 47 of Scranton, Pennsylvania, pled guilty to one count of Burglary, a third degree crime and one count of Theft, a third degree crime.  Sentencing is presently anticipated for November 5, 2020.

     In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted that on August 8, 2018, he entered into an agreement with another individual, Thomas John Trotta, Jr., to aide him in committing a burglary and theft from Space Farms.  The defendant then did assist the other individual by driving him to and from Space Farms where the individual did in fact commit the crimes of burglary and theft and stole a firearm valued at over $50,000. 

     The case was investigated by Trooper Postorino and Detective Deckert of the New Jersey State Police.

     Tassiello was represented by Thomas Militano, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Laura L. Nazzaro.
