Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Francis M. Velasco, who appeared before the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, J.S.C. via the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on June 18, 2020.
Velasco, age 43, of Hardyston, was sentenced to one year Probation. Along with the standard conditions of Probation he must also complete 75 hours of community service and pay $125.00 in court fines and fees.
He pled guilty on April 28, 2020, to Obstruction of Administration of the Law, a disorderly persons charge.
The defendant gave false information when applying for a New Jersey Firearms Purchaser Identification Card and Handgun Purchase Permit.
Velasco was represented by Daniel P. Agatino, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
