Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Stacey Spencer, who appeared before the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on May 21, 2020.
Spencer, age 56 of Newton, was sentenced to one year probation and 30 days SLAP. He must also pay mandatory fines and fees.
He pled guilty on December 9, 2019 to Forgery, a third degree crime. Spencer admitted to attempting to purchase items on August 25, 2019 in the 7-11/Exxon Station in Newton with counterfeit money. When arrested he was in possession of $144.00 in counterfeit money.
Spencer was represented by Shaun Russell, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Rachelle Jones.
