Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Ryan J. Platt, who appeared before the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on February 14, 2020.
Platt, age 22, of Vernon, was sentenced to one year Probation with credit for 42 days already served in the county jail. He must also undergo a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, random urine monitoring, complete fifty hours of community service and pay $1205.00 in fines and fees.
He pled guilty on January 21, 2020, to third degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.
The defendant was in possession of Cocaine when he was questioned by New Jersey State Police when they responded to a report of an erratic driver and things being thrown out of a vehicle window.
Platt was represented by Erik Hassing, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Magdalen Czykier.
