Transit Director Christine Florio Recognized by TransOptions as Government Official of the Year

(Newton, NJ) Each year TransOptions honors a select group of companies and individuals who have made outstanding contributions by supporting transportation, safety and environmental programs in northwest New Jersey. This year, TransOptions selected Christine Florio, Sussex County Director of Community and Youth Services and Transit, as the Government Official of the Year. Ms. Florio received the award during the TransOptions Recognition Breakfast on September 12, 2019 at The Meadow Wood in Randolph, NJ. Sussex County Freeholder Director Herbert Yardley, Deputy Director Sylvia Petillo, Freeholder Joshua Hertzberg, and County Administrator Gregory Poff were in attendance to congratulate Christine on her outstanding achievement.
As director, Ms. Florio oversees Sussex County Transit and concentrates on enhancing transit services as well as bringing a voice to vulnerable populations such as low income individuals and families, individuals with disabilities, and senior citizens.
Christine Florio began her career with Sussex County sixteen years ago and has served admirably throughout her years of service. She began her calling as a Social Worker and has distinguished herself through years of dedication and tireless work to enrich the welfare of county residents.
