Press Release - Sentencing of Heather Hardick

Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Heather Hardick, who appeared before the Honorable Thomas J. Critchley, Jr., J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on June 21, 2019.
Hardick, age 36, of Wantage, was sentenced to 270 days in Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility. She received credit for 72 days already served. The defendant was also sentenced to two years’ Probation, a six-month loss of her driver’s license and ordered to pay $1,280.00 in fines and fees.
She pled guilty on June 5, 2019, to Shoplifting and Possession of a Controlled Substance, both crimes of the third degree.
The defendant attempted to take merchandise from the Franklin Walmart on January 10, 2019 and during a stop by the New Jersey State Police on April 9, 2019 was found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Hardick was represented by Charles O’Connell, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
