Press Release - Sentencing of Joseph Aumann

     Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Joseph Aumann, who appeared before the Honorable Thomas J. Critchley, Jr., J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on April 12, 2019.
 
     Aumann, age 22 of Boonton, NJ, was sentenced to one year probation.  He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and a mental health evaluation and follow all recommendations thereof.  He must also pay mandatory fines and fees.
 
     He pled guilty on February 11, 2019 to criminal mischief, a fourth degree crime.  Defendant admitted that during an argument, defendant purposely damaged victim’s cell phone, broke a bathroom window and damaged other personal property of the victim.
 
     Aumann was represented by Charles O’Connell, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Rachelle Jones.
