Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Josephine Shipps, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on March 13, 2019.
Shipps, age 49, of Hopatcong, was sentenced to three years New Jersey State Prison to run concurrent with her Pennsylvania sentence on a different matter, with credit for 59 days already served. She must also pay $2,008.83 in restitution and $125.00 in court fines and fees.
She pled guilty on January 28, 2019, to third degree Bad Checks.
The defendant wrote a bad check to Outlaw Outfitters knowing she did not have enough funds in the bank to cover said check.
Shipps was represented by Charles O’Connell, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
